Whatever the case, we need frigates that can do more than seize unarmed tankers.

A “fishing trawler” might have had trouble maintaining the chase for two weeks across the North Atlantic in mid-winter. And in dealing with the Russian sub and whatever else was coming to escort it in. But Munro did not do it alone.

Why? Do you think that capture of an unarmed tanker is so challenging? You could have done that with a fishing trawler, if armed boarding team is in board (or a fishing boat as Somali pirates have demonstrated)...
