The model is very nice and yes, it will look great when adding purchasing photo-etch to enhance it. I will be building it in the prewar tropical livery.

The tropical paint scheme was used only until 1910, afterwards all ships had the patterns made of two light greys - also those ships in the Pacific.
I used for the tropical paint scheme:
Vallejo Model Color:
4 (820) white for the lower part of the hull
121 (913) yellow ochre for upper part of the hull, funnels, masts...
35 (859) black red for forecastle and poop Deck
110 (986) for the wooden planked deck midships
167 (995) black for the deck around the anchors
