I already have in my spare parts stash a good selection of railings, ladders and AA weapons (octuple pom-poms and Vickers quad machine guns), and I could make my own masts and yardarms from brass rod if necessary, but I can't make my own adhesive wood deck, so that part will be necessary for me to do much work with this kit.

For what it's worth, both Black Cat and Micromaster have a good selection of aftermarket parts such as boats, directors, and weapons already available. That's what I'm working on while I wait to see what PE becomes available.
