When I received my Trumpeter USS Midway kit last year I ordered the 3D-wild upgrades for a 1947 fit (5-in. guns, bridge, fire control directors and inner propeller shafts), then found that the 3D-printed bridge was incomplete (no enclosed windows in front) and there was no information as to which deck devices included with the original bridge had been replaced or moved or which radars had been upgraded and where they should be placed. I also noted from photos of the ship available online that the antennas along the edge of the flight deck had been changed by 1947, and again, no information as to precisely where to place their replacements (the large ones that came in the Trumpeter kit were no longer visible and presumably absent by 1947). So, I stuck with the original 1946 bridge, masts. antennas and radars, and just used the 3D-printed propeller shafts and all eighteen 5-in. guns (resin barrels included). I submitted my photos of the Midway to "the other site" months ago but they seem to have been ignoring all my submissions (four altogether) since April 2024.
