Depends on which boat at which date in which theatre. In the most basic terms, Pacific boats were in various greens while Atlantic/Med boats were in grays. However, based on original color and b/w photos, there were major variations. In the Pacific, RON13 boats went to the Aleutians in May 1943 in MS14 (OCEAN GRAY 5-H) but were repainted in MS13 (HAZE GRAY 5-H) at some point, then in MS31/5P prior to transfer to the SW Pacific in the summer of 1944. Most Pacific boats later in the war wore MS31/5p or MS31/20L. I have never been able to determine if there were ever any overall green Higgins boats. In the Mediterranean, the boats of RON15 were a wide range of colors, no two boats being the same initially. According to a letter written by a former crew member, PT207 and PT208 were painted in an Adaptor-like scheme (Stripes) in which the white was replaced with pink. One RON22 boat (PT306) was in an Adaptor scheme but the colors were not the original black and white. The three boats of RON2(2) (71, 72, 199) in the Channel were painted Mountbatten Pink in April 1944 for D-Day operations. I have hundreds of photos but no way to publish them here anymore. If you are on Facebook, visit my SMALL NAVAL COMBATANTS group and you'll see a lot of them.
