UPS does make an attempt to reach out to sender or receiver if paper work is done wrong as long as they have proper contact information .They don’t make it their life’s work. Typically UPS/Fed Ex will refuse shipping an item until their paperwork is completed properly. Why spend the fuel to destroy an item?
On another note packages are destroyed in transit or in customs warehouse if poor/y packed. I have had hobby items destroyed in customs. I duplicated the order and the order got through…barely. All packed in a small box not sturdier enough for international shipping and one strip of sealing tape leaving the box partial open. I stopped dealing with the vendor.
Yup there is a backlog at UPS for incoming and outgoing international shipments. Also a backlog for domestic shipments. Ever wonder why UPS ground takes 5-7 business days?
