Many countries’ postal systems have ceased dealing with the USPS. Vendors are being required to ship via a duty-paid parcel service. These companies, many well known, include a limited list of expensive services that you, the buyer, will need to pay for.

I was considering a purchase from Poland. At checkout they added the EU tariff (15%) and the only available shipping method was FedEx air ($). To this was added the FedEx duty paid service ($) which I suppose ensures that the collected duty gets sent to the treasury ( Hey, they can make money on the float while the hold the funds prior to transfer). The end result was a $20 dollar item was going to cost almost $75 at my front door. I abandoned the item in the shopping cart.

I have resolved to deal with Stateside importers who have established import relations and are only paying tariffs on on a wholesale price
