I try to be more philosophical about this. Do we need another Bf-109? Lord no! But, they sell, and those sales amortize other projects and bring us other kits. I look at this 1965 Yamato the same way. Will I buy it? Nope, but others will and the sales will hopefully fund other model kits that I do want, like any number of Royal Navy cruisers, or a Brooklyn, or a Soryu. You get the idea. Just as I won't criticize those who want a new Bf-109 (and there area already oodles of those) I won't criticize someone who wants a 1965 Yamato. Buy it, have fun with it, or don't. I'm reminded of what the late Al Superczynski usd to say on the Modelingmadness.com website: “Build what YOU want, the way YOU want to, and above all, have fun.” Those are great words to model by.

Just saw on YouTube somebody is releasing a new tool 1/350 IJN Yamato “1965” fitted with Soviet looking missile tubes and a Ka-25 on the fantail. The box art shows it heading out through the Golden Gate.
We can’t get a truly accurate 1/350 Iowa class, but we can get crap that never existed….
