The 1965 Yamato is based on the recent series The Man in the High Castle. And yes it is a fantasy depection of a parallel world where Japan and Germany won WW2. There was an even shorter shot of Shinano with an angled flight deck.

Just saw on YouTube somebody is releasing a new tool 1/350 IJN Yamato “1965” fitted with Soviet looking missile tubes and a Ka-25 on the fantail. The box art shows it heading out through the Golden Gate.

We can’t get a truly accurate 1/350 Iowa class, but we can get crap that never existed….
