All the large light cruisers (battlecruisers) were fitted with bulges. Those on Furious were much deeper and accounted for the additional 7 feet of beam over the other two ships. The bulges are very evident on the design block half-model of Courageous (SLR1435) in the National Maritime Museum collection. When Glorious and Courageous were converted to aircraft carriers they (and Furious) received even larger bulges.
On the subject of accuracy, I recently was told by Alex Grover of the museum that World of Warships is amongst it biggest customers for Admiralty plans of warships and, he presumes, work from the digital copies supplied to create their renditions, so it seems quite possible for the models derived from World of Warships origins to be quite accurate, at least if they are of British vessels.
