The pink paint issue has been around for years. It's due to the blue pigment fading faster then the red pigment, allowing the red to show through more. The Navy has it fixed, but stocks of old paint take a long time to use up and ships only get painted every so many years. (aside from touch ups, crews don't seem to do it very often) The Wisconsin, like most museums, can only afford to paint the hulls occasionally. They manage to paint the superstructures more often, hence it's still grey. I'm not even sure that the museum uses USN Paint, but I assume they do being so close to Norfolk and Portsmouth.

She was last decommissioned in 1991.
She's been a museum ship since 2001, so it's been a few years! I suspect they have someone on paint duty pretty much full time. They start at one end, and by the time they reach the other end, it's time to go back and start over!! JK!!
