Yes I m certain that the Virginia class had a hangar. When first built in the 1970's all 4 ships Virginia,Texas,Mississippi, and Arkanas had them. The stern deck wasnt as cluttered.
The hangar and elevator remained until the 1980's when they were modernized. There was problems . The folding hatch leaked water into the hangar and this effected the elevator. The elevator was removed and rebuilt as a single deck for the armor box launchers to be mounted. The stern helicopter pad was modified for this.
All ships have evolution. The Virginia class were used for about 15-20 yrs before being decommissioned and scrapped.

stern area would be a bit congested with the twin arm missile launcher a 5" gun & at 1 point what appears to be 2 ABLs(?) as shown in this link? https://www.navsource.net/archives/04/1138/04013810.jpg

The Virginia class CGN had below main deck
hangar for a SH-2 Seasprite in the stern before the
helicopter pad.The hangar was equipped with an elevator and covered by a folding hatch. How did this folding hatch work? Any one know. Thanks in advance.
