I saw a close up picture somewhere. It looks like the "composite" material that simulates wood decks rather than the natural teak (or other wood) decks. I could be wrong - so someone knowledgeable about the restoration please chime in!

The USS Iowa museum has begun doing the same thing around the bridge area - but it does not look as light colored.
