Prices will have to rise to pay for the tariffs. The principle is to discourage consumers from buying from overseas.

From the UK I think a ten percent increase.

Not trying to be provocative, but the increases will be some sort of disincentive to buying from abroad.
Small, non-Chinese manufacturers will need dedicated modellers to support any efforts they make in producing aimed at the US market.
