If you focus only on the de minimis issue, you could argue that there are similarities. However, this would mean ignoring the wider agenda completely.
a) Trump introduces (or at least he want to introduce) new tariffs and is dramatically increasing existing ones
b) EU still aims to abolish or at least decrease tariffs via free-trade agreements.

E.g.if 150 € de minimis will be really abolished in the EU, that could have zero effect in regard to imports e.g. from Japan.
