For acrylic modeling paints, either brushed or airbrushed, I have always used 91% isopropyl alcohol, which is inexpensive and can be purchased (e.g., in a 1-pint size) from most US drugstores and, presumably, from chemists in the UK and EU.

I find this brand works well with Tamiya, Vallejo and the few Model Master Acrylics I still have. I don't know what the formulation is, but it just seems to work w/o causing the paint to go weird (gumming, separating etc.). I'm referring to airbrushing only.

I have a number of different brands of acrylic paint and I was wondering if there is any kind of chart showing which thinner will work with which brand of paint. This is a new world for me as I have only used enamels in the past. I bought a rather costly bottle of Tamiya thinner and would like to avoid big outlays of cash if possible. My wife would like that too lol. Thanks gents.
