I am afraid I have some more bad news for you. Down near the bottom of this announcement:
https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/07/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-is-protecting-the-united-states-national-security-and-economy-by-suspending-the-de-minimis-exemption-for-commercial-shipments-globally/
Is this little item:
"The President signed into law the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which permanently repeals the statutory basis for the de minimis exemption worldwide effective July 1, 2027."
So, this is currently enshrined in law (though admittedly not due to take effect until 2027.) Still, it is now a matter beyond mere executive orders. "Legislative participation" is indeed now required in this, and to reverse what they themselves have done. In two years, if the legislature does indeed change hands to the other party, this law will then be in effect, so one of their first orders of business will have to be to reverse it. They might have other priorities. If they reverse it, it will no doubt be vetoed. Then, they need to pass a veto override.
I am afraid the outlook that this is temporary in any short term way is "uninformed." It is now law, and that's a different animal from flighty executive orders.
Sorry.

Hang in there Ben. For what it's worth I'll be putting in an order for some accessories next month as long as you're still shipping to Canada. A couple of rays of hope: First of all this clown reverses himself at the drop of a hat so it's not impossible that everything could change, especially if he detects voter unhappiness and I'm sure this affects more than just the modelling community. And the next 14 months will no doubt be tough but if we can all hang in there, I have every confidence Americans will elect a Democratic House and maybe even a Senate to provide some checks and balances. If that happens the clown will fast become a lame duck for the last half of his term.

Hello everyone,
I've just got back from holiday, and I'm looking forward to starting work again on Monday.
However, I've received some bad news from La Poste: they're suspending shipments to the United States with effect from Monday. They have given two reasons for this: the removal of the 'de minimis' tax threshold and a lack of information from US customs. This means that all shipments could be refused by US customs and returned to their point of origin.
This is the only information I have for now. I will therefore have to put US orders placed during my absence on hold and prevent US customers from ordering via the website. This is a very difficult situation for small businesses around the world. Let's hope the problem is resolved soon. More information to follow.
Meow,
Ben
