The reason is certainly not prejudice towards the US or American products, Australia is desperately hoping the US nuke sub deal will go ahead under the Trump admin. It's to do will sharing it out with regional stakeholders holders. Japan's atrocities against Australian POW's during WWII is well and truly forgiven (at least under this gov).
