Warspite was in 507A dark gray in Norway. This is the ship being repainted into 507C light gray in Alexandria ca. June 1940. Note the partially painted funnel, the dark gray back plate of X turret, the dark gray of her forward superstructure, and her famous Swordfish in mid-1940 markings. For some strange reason a cut and paste job removed her bow, and replaced it on her bow (to make it look longer?). I have never seen a phot like this. There is no photo of her in Norway, expect from a great distance. This proves she was in Admiralty Dark Gray during her Narvik fight. This was before the French capitulation at the end of May, note the two French heavy cruisers in the background, port and starboard. This is the only photo of her famous Swordfish which sank a German sub during the Narvik shootout.
