After the Falklands all of the type 42's underwent CIWS improvements and mods of varying descriptions and also some radar upgrades so you would have to pick your ship and have a reference handy for the time, but for a ship before there would be very minimal difference.
I'm not familiar with the Foreart kit (at all) but the ships available to convert would be (given that Coventry is available):
D86 Birmingham*
D108 Cardiff*
D87 Newcastle*
D88 Glasgow
D89 Exeter*
D90 Southampton
D91 Nottingham*
D92 Liverpool*
The first four being Batch I, and those marked with an asterix carried ship's crest on their funnels and pre and post Falklands carried hull numbers. Previous Message
I've been looking at the Foreart Type 42 and it looks very nice, the only thing is I prefer to make models of ships that weren't sunk and had long service lives and for some reason they have chosen to do Sheffiend and Coventry, the two members of the class that were lost in the Falklands conflict.
Does anyone know if they have any plans to do any other members of the class? or if any of the other Royal Navy Batch 1s can be built from either kit (I'm assuming the Coventry would be most like the other class members).
