As built, Intrepid was a short-hull, while Hancock and Ticonderoga were long-hull. However, when the hurricane bows were added, that distinction went away. Your instincts about the starboard elevator are generally correct, however, it was those three...Intrepid, Hancock and Ticonderoga...which have the starboard elevator in a different location from the rest of the class. They also ended up with a distinctive bow elevator, and steam catapults. While Hancock and Ticonderoga were classified CVA, Intrepid got sonar, and was a CVS, becoming a "special attack" CVA off Vietnam for a brief stretch (because of her steam catapults) before returning to her CVS role.
When the angle deck Intrepid kits first came out, many people complained about this choice precisely because Intrepid, Hancock and Ticonderoga are the only three you can easily get from the kit. Many wanted the more common angle deck conversion given to the rest of the class. Previous Message
I think Intrepid was short hull while the other two had an extension added to the bow while under construction for a bit of extra length. If so you'd have to modify the Intrepid kit which probably would not be easy. Also, the starboard elevator may not be in the exact spot on all three ships so you'll have to check refs.
I don't know who carries conversion decals for the Merit 1/350 Intrepid but they don't show on Starfighter's web site.

Hello.
It's been about 7 or 8 years since I've done ships, and I picked up a USS Intrepid angle deck. From what I understand they were three sister ships that were almost identical, the Intrepid, the Hancock, in the Ticonderoga. I'm looking for decals for the Hancock or Ticonderoga and I can't remember the guy who sells them.
