USS New Orleans.
1.No radar.
2.Seaplanes .The New Orleans commissioned in 1934 and had 3 or 4 Vought O3U seaplanes from 1934 to 1937, that year 1937 the NO(New Orleans)recieved 3 or 4 SOC Seagulls operated them until 1945 which were replaced by SC Seahawks and carried those until the NO decommissioning after the war ended.
3. The 8 5/25 inch gun placements. These 8 5/25 guns were open mounts-No turret or gun tub. They were mounted on circular steel discs in the deck that slightlyextended out of the hull on 4 of the 5/25's that each one was in line with the 2 smoke stack, one per side. They have shiprailings alongside them.
4. This maybe the hardest. The conning tower of the NO mounted on the deck above the main deck has 3 decks. The 1st deck of the conning tower has no outside walls on it.However it wasn't till 1942 that this was done.

Hello everyone,
I am interested in acquiring a Trumpeter 1/350 heavy cruiser SAN FRANCISCO to modify her into a NEW ORLEANS (prewar). Would this involve a ton of modifications to the existing kit of SAN FRANCISCO or is there another variant kit of the class which would be easier to modify?
One other question...since I'd be interested in a prewar NEW ORLEANS, which is correct the light grey paint I should use?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
