In my experience (limited to purchasing two 1/700 kits of RN aircraft carriers, but not Indomitable) there are good points and bad point to these kits.
Good points:
• Delivery (China to UK) quite quick – 11 days
• Dimensional accuracy – appears good
• Subjects not available elsewhere
Not-so-good points:
• Instructions – poorly printed and rather small
• Strange grid pattern on flight decks
• Some inaccuracies in detail (eg Furious depicted with 6 octuple pompoms in late-war configuration – I can only find evidence that she had four, without the enclosed aimer’s position)
Other issues:
• Very difficult to paint inside boat bays, berthing bays etc
• Builder must provide any materials for some delicate items (crash barriers, deck-edge netting, guardrails etc)
• Quality of lattice items (cranes, antenna masts) varied between the two kits – solid on one kit, see-through on the other.
