In my experience as long as the paint has completely dried and is clean and clear of all loose foreign matter and dust the self adhesive deck should stick. Make sure you lay it correctly first time though because if you have to pull it up for any adjustment along the way the adhesive will lift the paint which will mean a new deck and then you will have to sand the surface because of uneveness.
You have to get it right first time. Previous Message
will the adhesive bond be compromised if the model's plastic deck has enamel paint on it? I had already painted the main decks tan when I discovered the first level superstructure should also show wood planking. I decided to buy a set of wood decking.
I want to respray the deck to pick up all the "metal protuberances" before setting the wood decking on.
