I'm very sorry to hear this. He was a friend of my wife's and mine when she worked at SNAME headquarters. I even was privileged to help in a minor way when he presented on the Titanic at one of their annual meetings.
If anyone know where and when will be the celebrations of his life please post.

I was informed yesterday of the passing of Bill, having been ill for some time now. Respected author / co-author of several well received naval books and chairman of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) he will be missed. Vale Bill!
