For example, the models by Revell Germany, an independent company, are vastly superior to those produced by the former parent, Revell USA.
So, the 145% tariff on Chinese model would not be considered a retaliatory tariff for a market, that for practical purposes, does not exist.
It would be similar to tariff on penguins.

Hi Doug,
That is true, but Atlantis Models retail prices in China are artificially 118% higher that Red Banner Models are, prior to January 1. As for these tariffs being primarily aimed at China and South Korea, I have no idea about that. As far as I know, everyone got the same tariff percentage assessed, unless the media got something wrong...

There are hardly any US plastic models to export. The tariff is aimed primarily at Japan and South Korea. Europe exports a great deal more to China than the US. Previous Message

EVERYONE knows who’s responsible for this disaster. Naming the culprits doesn’t help their case.
Well, here are the tariffs imposed on products coming into China, specifically the tariff on Other Toys, HS code 9503008900, which is where scale models are in the HS Code, prior to January 1, 2025. As you know, no tariff was charged by the US on imported models, but China charged a 118% tariff, as of September 2018, on every imported model. Riddle me this. Could this be the event for the responsibility of all this?
