The flaw in your position is that THEY, meaning U.S. producers, offshored production, as if they consciously sent production overseas. This assumes that foreign producers would not have created products for the U.S. market unless our small producers here asked them to do so. But that’s erroneous.

These foreign producers created their products IN SPITE of our domestic producers and as it became evident that American CONSUMERS wanted cheaper products, domestic distributors purchased them and sold them here. American producers couldn’t hope to compete on equal terms, given the cost of labor etc. So if anyone is to blame, it’s US, the American consumer. But hey, that’s capitalism. That’s the free market. That’s the law of competition. Isn’t that what we’re supposed to have?
