FYI on that - the brass train market is basically dead. It's pretty much just resale of existing (i.e. used) equipment.
The plastic market killed it years ago as the quality improved relative to price.

Model railroading is a huge hobby in the U.S. but heavily dependent upon foreign manufacturers.
