As you may know, a Korean company purchased the yard (primarily drydocks 4 & 5) a few months ago.
They have also purchased former Philly metro drydock #3 and possibly #1 & 2. No problem there, however I just read that they now want the Navy to vacate the reserve basin.
You might say, they are old ships, but remember the old flush deckers that got us out of tight spots during the first year(s) of WWII.
There are around 4 to 5 Ticonderogas, maybe 6 or 7 Perrys, some LPDs and LKAs and an oiler or 2. Enough to make a difference in a crisis.
