Thanks to Tom for pointing out the "Coal Black Sea" book, which I had not heard of. I had read the story of the sinking of the three cruisers in Alan Coles' book "Three Before Breakfast."
When I was researching the British fast minelayers, I met the son of the Captain of the Abdiel, who had been a survivor of Hogue as a midshipman, I think. The Royal Navy observed the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the three ships at Chatham in 2014.
Lars' model of the Cressy really brings the story to life.
