A fragment of the Oklahoma's mainmast was recovered during the 1980's when the Navy was preparing new docking facilities for the Iowa class battleships. It was transported to the USS Batfish museum in Muskogee Oklahoma years later.

I've oftened wondered what happened to the fighting tops. Could they still be stuck deep in the mud? Or were they lifted out of the mud at some point? There are no photos of them being salvaged and I can find no written accounts of their salvage. Maybe they were crushed beyond recognition and came up as simply scrap metal.
Clearly, both masts were sheared off the ship as they hit bottom.
