I got an email from Shapeways today and it looks like they are bringing back "Print on Demand". This is a cut & paste from that email:
Print-on-Demand at Thangs Starts to Roll Out
When the new management team took charge of Shapeways, one of our key missions was to rebuild Shops that were fit for 2025 and beyond. The old infrastructure behind Shapeways Shops was beyond saving, so we looked for a new route.
We are really excited to announce that the second step in that journey has now been completed as we start to roll out the Print-on-Demand functionality at Thangs! We already have dozens of inspiring designs ready to print directly from Thangs, and that’s just the start.
Our CEO, Marleen explains: “We’re really happy to be launching the Print-on-Demand feature within Thangs already and make good on the ambitions we had from the very start of the journey. We are always mindful that the progress we want to see will take time, and we strive to put our customers first while driving developments forwards. This initial iteration of the Print-on-Demand service button lets us prove out the system, learn from the implementation and ensure that we successfully reach the ultimate goal for this part of the journey: to bring back the full Shapeways Shop experience while delivering significant improvements over previous iterations.”

Preparing For a New Home For Our Netherlands Factory
Shapeways’ Netherlands factory has been located centrally in the city of Eindhoven for more than a decade. Our ‘Kanaaldijk’ (literally the dyke by the canal) home has seen a huge amount of development over the time we’ve been there, and it has been a factor in our success. It’s a bittersweet moment as we realize we have outgrown it.
Mindful of the growth we are experiencing and will continue to see, we will be relocating late next year to a former Philips Electronics building at Strijp T on the outskirts of Eindhoven, which is currently being specified and revitalized for the future. There’s a nice circularity to returning to a Philips building — after all, that’s where Shapeways started out.
