I knew it was an antenna. The Catch 22 is that--unless you know what kind of antenna it is--you almost can't search for it. "Antenna" is a huge category, and terms are needed to narrow that down. So, predictably, my search was not really getting anywhere. Until I found the Thales site. Once NVIS got added to the search terms, it all improved nicely enough. Satisfied both our curiosities.

Excellent, thank you! I would have never guessed that it was an antenna. Googled "Details of NVIS antennas" and saw that it could also use an inverted "V" configuration. Previous Message

Well, I had high hopes. My cousin is recently retired Coast Guard. I emailed him the question last night. Unfortunately, he does not know. I am now curious myself. I am not sure where to go looking. Hopefully you'll get a knowledgeable reply. Previous Message
