The Mutsuki was camouflaged from July,1941 to October 1941 as an experiment with white and black paint just prior to Japan's entry into WW2.
Yeah there is a photo of it. In a book called Naval Camouflage 1914-1945.

What time period was the Mutsuki camouflaged? Was there a particular reason why? Is there an actual photo?
