The entire notion that only right wing ship modelers are the only victims of barbs and insults on this site is simply false. There are plenty of barbs, insults and vulgarity all around.

Your statement, like many others, begs the question of everyone on this site, "Is this site only welcoming of, and implicitly for, right wing, white, male, American Christian modelers and Republicans?"

No Democrats, "lefty libs" or foreigners need apply? Can black people, brown people, Asians or women post here? Can Muslims post here? How about European citizens of NATO nations? Can Mexicans post here? Puerto Ricans? Greenlanders? How about Jews?

Can a Canadian or American modeler ask if tariffs will affect the price of his models without being jumped upon and called a "lefty lib" or a "Biden lover"?

How about younger modelers like GenX and GenZ? Didn't you, yourself insult GenX and GenZ modelers by calling them "snowflakes" and "lazy" on this message board a few months back? Is this site only for boomers?

There haven't been any Biden, Clinton or Harris put-down comments or "lefty lib"-targeted insults on this site?

Your own post is troubling: "We've had to tolerate left wing barbs without reply..."

Firstly, who are the "we"? Are the "we" only right wing white Americans?

Secondly, there have been left wing barbs on this board. And there have also been many right wing barbs, including ultra right wing, racist white supremacist, false Christian, and insurrectionist-supporting replies, commentary and argument-initiating provocative posts. The implication that no left wing or centrist modelers have had to "tolerate" right wing barbs, put-downs, and insults is simply false.

For example, here's another appalling quote from David V:
"If he's so stupid, how'd he [Elon Musk] get to be the world's richest man ? Sounds like you're the stupid one."

And from New World Order:
"You should really just concern yourself with the ongoing Islamation of Britain which you recently overwhelmingly voted for. The King and Queen of England packing dates for Ramadan and the calling of the faithful to prayer in Westminster Hall and Wndsor Castle? You country is a disgrace....The mass rapes of young British teenage girls as an industry by disgusting Paki Muslims [emphasis mine] and your government and its public institutions including your gutless police forces to do nothing to help or protect them?"

Jay actually went so far as to declare the souls of all the "lefty libs" on the site damned stating God himself was the author of their damnation, implying in his repugnant post that only white, Christian Republicans are truly saved.

And some of the things MAGA! has said, well, let's just not go there.

We agree that foul language harms the site. But your post implies that the use of vulgarity is only coming from "left wing" modelers here. There is plenty of right wing vulgarity here, too, and both sources should stop. A couple of examples among many:

"I also agree totally you're a genuine dumbass. See the folks who reamed your sorry ass out up above ? Well, go reread them and get bent, sheethead."

From Tim Connelly:
"I am also getting with non-Americans mouthing off about our president and our policies. Yeah, you don't like Trump - we get it - it is very obvious .... but since you don't live here and you didn't vote in the election, ,,,, shut the Hell up..."

I hope that this message board will survive and be a welcoming place for any ship modeler, anywhere. It's not looking good.

Military force structure and operations are inherently political so discussing them on sites like this is a minefield. Current politics are extremely contentious. So it takes a lot of maturity and restraint among members of a site like this to keep things civil. We're just not there.
