Possibly quite true, however "we" English speakers have a problem with foreign language books and for some reason foreign publishers seem very reluctant to have them translated.

I know of several French, German and Japanese language books which I am sure would sell well (for naval warship references) in the anglo-sphere - I would buy them even if they were 50% more than equivalent books originally written in English.

N.B. about 10 years ago I picked up cheap on E-*** a German language copy of R & R's British Battleships of WW2 (well the drawings were all there).
