I'm not able to say how well it would work with 3D-printed aircraft. I haven't tried that personally and since we don't sell any 3D-printed aircraft, I haven't received any direct feedback from customers.

I can say that with any specialized tool, the modeler's skill level and experience level will affect results. Therefore, it is recommended to try the hot knife on some scrap material first until you are comfortable using the knife.
