SIX times for CASINOS? Set your sights a little higher, Schmitty. Previous Message
Well the good thing Steve L is that from your post below it seems the therapy relayed by Ralph has set you at ease. Good old SteelNavy, much cheaper than the going professional rate, hey!
You fear for the dopey riot that occurred at the Capitol and what you perceive is unrealised 'justice'? Did you fear for your country when Only Black Lives Matter ran riot throughout the US and killed many people and cities and neighborhoods burned to the ground for days? This rioting was pretty much sanctioned by the political leaders of the day. The same goes for the Free Palestine insurrection last year when thousands and thousands ran riot through the streets and universities vandalising and destroying anything they could and intimidating American citizens because of their faith. Any fear there? Should be because most of those imbeciles didn't have clue what they were supporting, and they were um...uni students! Says a real lot.
Did you fear for your country when the Democratic Party openly weaponised the US Dept of Justice including institutions such as the FBI and the Secret Service, to persecute its political opponent to prevent him from democratically relieving them of power in a free election, which was always on the cards?
Are you concerned that the federal pillars of justice in the USA, the FBI and the SS are incompetent and untrustworthy, as it stands at present? You don't fear the corruption of the former with the cover up of Hunter Biden's laptop? You don't fear the latter's cover up of blowing President John Kennedy's head almost clean off with an accidently discharged .556 hollow point bullet from an Armalite rifle in the hands of an agent who should not have been holding it only for the fact that the rest of those tools were hung over and not fit for duty after a night of whoring and on the piss? And then not having the guts to own up to it?
And that they couldn't prevent assassination attempts on Ford, Reagan and the first time that idiot took a pop at Trump last year after repeated incessant goading by the left to 'ave a go'? Geeze, what an outfit, does the Treasury Dept still own them? Should be shut down and replaced with people who are prepared to do their jobs.
You don't fear that the Democratic Party and its acolytes - which includes the entire free to air media - deceived and hid from the American people for at least two years but more likely three, the fact their president was severely suffering from late set dementia and for a position so vitally responsible was no longer fit for office? And were then to quickly replace him with a pinhead without going through constitutional due process?
We in the rest of the world were right up to speed, all of us I kid you not! And that he then arbitrarily pardoned his criminal family and associates from any crimes committed by them dating back TEN years before finally vacating office? Phew! And we all know the list is huge. What a family.
You know what the Great Republic had become for most of the last 16 years Steve L, at least in the eyes of the rest of the world but I suspect for millions and millions of Americans as well? A second rate corrupt banana republic.
And you fear for your country because a mob of idiots rioted at the Capitol?
Its morning Steve L, the sun is shining in spledour on a brave new world that has finally cast off the repression, corruption and regression of what seems like two decades. It started with Orban in Hungary then booting out Arden in NZ, then the election of Milei in Argentina, Germany's commies are history, Le Pen will take France and the dopey socialists who run Australia and Canada will be next and very soon. But we all are so grateful to the American electorate who came out in their millions voluntarily in the freezing cold last November and said, emphatically:
"we've had enough of this shit!"
All of us, in America and around the world, say "Thank you".
Don't fret Steve L, we're now in the hands of a very experienced deal maker who wants nothing more than a successful outcome, something he is quite qualified to achieve, and, he's a certified Rock Star already and will have not the slightest bit of interest in going on longer than his four years. Why? Look at the incredible talent that is to follow to cement America as the greatest nation the world has ever seen and with it the Western World on its coat tails! Previous Message
I completely agree with you that both sides are a mess and that we are totally polarized. Civil war is a distinct possibility, perhaps inevitable. I truly hope that our polarization is not fatal.
I do agree with you that January 6th was perpetrated by a relatively small group of right wing extremists. But that's not the real problem.
The real problem now is the refusal of the current President, Republican senators and Republican congressman to acknowledge that January 6th was even an insurrection, or condemn the pardoning of the insurrectionists. This refusal is a huge, huge problem. And this refusal to acknowledge is wholly Republican. It is the official position of the President who is the leader of the Republican Party. And it has become the official position of many elected Republican senators and congressmen. They say so on TV every day.
There can be no national healing as long as the Republican Party and its leaders refuse to acknowledge what happened, and forsake it and the insurrectionists with finality.
I get that their "base" demands that they don't. And that may be even worse.
So I think that perhaps where you and I disagree (and I hope I'm wrong), is that I believe that yes, the refusal to acknowledge January 6th as a very real insurrection, not a "patriotic protest", instigated by a sitting president who is now sitting in office again, has indeed become representative of the entire Republican Party. Those officials within the Republican Party who did not share that view have been purged by the Republican Party leadership and voters (Cheney, Kinzinger, etc.). Those persons are now subject to serious and threatening investigation by Republican Party leadership (Comer et al) and law enforcement agencies led by persons appointed by the Republican Party's leader. The January 6th event has been so minimized, so normalized, and its investigations to be so attacked as illegitimate by the Republican Party as a whole as to make the event itself acceptable to the Party as a whole. January 6th has become officially nothing more than a "patriotic protest" as evidenced by the presidential pardons which followed, and then by the refusal to condemn the pardons by Republican Party leadership including sitting Republican senators and the current Republican Speaker of the House. The leader of the Republican Party was reelected by Republican voters and others after promising to pardon the insurrections. This tends to indicate that pardons for the insurrectionists are acceptable to the Republican electorate. Republican Party leadership has simply, successfully and acceptably, washed away the violent crimes we all watched play out on TV before us. This is simply appalling.
We do agree that yes, there is much trouble with Democrats, too. No doubt about it. Hands down circus, weak and ineffectual, and with shady money dealings. Big trouble, deep trouble. And they earn our disgust every day. But that trouble, all of it, pales in sharp comparison to January 6th being falsely, officially portrayed as nothing more than an acceptable "patriotic protest" by the Republican Party as a whole.
And we are all the losers for it. And we're likely going to keep losing until something far worse happens.
The present situation is nothing short of terrifying.
Just my 2 cents.
