POW had an internal degaussing coil (actually 3 on different axes). Degaussing coils only came to prominence (at least in the RN) after the German magnetic mine campaign and the discovery of their principles of action (despite the RN having manetic mines since WW1). Ships from about POW's completion had internal coils, and KGV's was converted into an internal coil during a refit.
