Airfix KGV has a very "light" representation of the degaussing cable. Did PoW NOT have one? It seems that PoW being placed in service later had some "upgrades" that had not yet been fitted to KGV.

When fighting the Bismarck KGV had an external degaussing coil - does your hull have one, or does your PE set ?
