confirmed by this site. The 4.7 inch guns mounted in the superstructure and on the "quarterdeck" have "shields". The splinter shields around the guns also seem to be different on Rodney as is the upper part of the bridge structure. I have been studying photos from several published sources and hope to get something "passable". Working on the cheap kits to improve skills before doing a 1/350 kit. Also sort of a "silk purse out of a sows ear" thing. I redid Revel Missouri into a round bridge New Jersy. I did the Renwal North Carolina in the late paint scheme and the later Revel North Carolina in the post war scheme. I fixed up a Lindberg Cleveland with additional 40mm and revised superstructure. No PE. Getting crazy in my old age. Previous Message
Assuming he is, why would you ask him which AA guns? I still don't understand. The topic was plainly posted in his very first post. He's interested in Rodney's 4.7-inch guns, and whether shielded or not in the Bismarck engagement. After that is answered, he wonders if they're made unshielded in 1/600. You then ask "which guns?" Why didn't you ask if he is looking to back date it, if that is actually what you were wondering? I find fascination in what makes people tick, which is why I am asking. Previous Message
"OK. Detail: low - Appearance: slightly clumsy/ok. Generally sound but needs a lot of detailing. Guns are clumsier than the Hood's. The kit represents Nelson as she was in 1945 but sadly all the light AA batteries are missing! The latest one I bought (in 1995) was actually in better shape than the one I bought some 15 years ago but the mold is now so old that some of the (few) details were lost. There is a article how to convert the kit to a pre-war variant in "Scale Model International" March
