In my own experience with these Chinese 3D-printed kits (SSModel and Globaltoy in 1/350 only at this point, though I have a 3DWild HMS Vanguard on order), these kits can be quite nice and detailed when finished -- IF you already have access to high-quality photos or diagrams of their deck and bridge equipment. The complete lack of assembly illustrations or instructions on only small, rudimentary 1-page sheets, means that you must do your own research to identify and then position the numerous small parts that come in the kit. It resembles trying to put together a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle without a useful picture of what it should look like when completed. Previous Message
There are some very nice PE cranes available. Previous Message
All:
I recently purchased 3D detail parts of the USS Arizona in 1/700 from Model Monkey, and thy are beautiful. But the one item that Steve at Model Monkey doesn't produce for USS Arizona is the large cranes located amidship. This part is, however, available online from Yao's Studios (item no. LYCG 700208), available online. Has anyone purchased this item and can they confirm that it is accurate and in-scale? I ask, because I seem to remember that someone previously noted that this manufacturer sometimes produced items somewhat overscale if the details don't print our properly in-scale. I don't mean to case aspersions on this manufacturer, but I was hoping someone can confirm that the boats' cranes are in-scale.
Thanks!
Mike E.
