Several different vendors are advertising this model on the usual auction site; I ordered one in September and it arrived about a week ago. The full-hull model (no manufacturer is listed; it may be SSModel) is beautifully cast, with the hull in two sections that fit together perfectly. However, the eight 5-in. AA guns (5-in. .25 cal) on the boat deck are not contained in splinter shields, which the Colorado carried for all of World War II. Does anyone out there know of a 3D-printing or resin aftermarket company (or even in photoetch) that supplies either these mounts correctly contained within the splinter shield, or the splinter shields by themselves?
