Don't believe me. Look for yourself. To use your own recommendation, "you may wish to deeply explore" the manufacturing source of resin 3D printers. You'll find that very few are produced outside of China. (One notable exception is Phrozen, a manufacturer in Taiwan.) Even very well-respected American 3D-printer manufacturer Formlabs, which has its headquarters outside Boston, outsources production of its Form 3 and Form 4 machines to a factory in China. Those machines may have been designed by a talented group of MIT grads in Boston, the machines are built in China.
The point is that any tariffs imposed on imported resin 3D printers and resins sourced from China will directly affect American vendors who use those machines and resins, as most do. Naturally, those US vendors will have to raise prices to account for the increased costs incurred from tariffs.
So if the excellent 3D prints you are buying in the US are being printed on machines made in China with resins made in China, and tariffs are imposed, you are extremely likely to see a price increase in those products.
Therefore, contact your favorite US-based 3D printed product vendor and ask them if their machines and resins come from China. If they answer in the affirmative, know that vendor will be adversely affected by any imposed tariffs.
Regarding Trumpeter, their products certainly have issues, no doubt. We are in complete agreement about that. But in many cases, for a specific subject, Trumpeter is the only plastic kit manufacturer making models of that subject, the only game in town, so-to-speak. So, if interested in a kit that is only produced by Trumpeter, and tariffs get imposed, we're stuck, unfortunately.
I hope you're right, that no tariffs will be imposed. I would love to be wrong on this; I am not a wealthy person. But since Trump has been explicitly, repeatedly stating he intends to impose 60% (+) tariffs on all goods imported from China to great cheer at rallies and on Fox News for at least a year, I'm inclined to believe otherwise until proven wrong.
