Plastic thickness on scratch built 1/96 scale superstructures

Ahoy all,

I am wondering when scratch building a ship's superstructure in 1/96 scale. Should you use 0.30 or 0.40 plastic sheet?
Any advice would be welcomed. I Thank You for your time.
