I withdraw my suggestion and instead suggest this. Go to the Aoshima official website and locate the two kits your interested in. They are practically identical except for the deck paint jobs.That would a simple way to achieve your goal. They have for each one photos of the completed model.Theyre towards the bottom of the page.

Looking at two kits of Aoshima Fuso and Yamashiro.One way to separate them was due to 1930's modernization. Yamashiro had the seaplane catapult mounted on top of the 3rd 14 inch gun turret and the Fuso had this on the stern.Im not an expert on the IJN just another modeler using my references and the internet.HTH. I was hoping one of our IJN buffs could advise as to the differences between Fuso and Yamashiro.
I've found to my chagrin that I have acquired two Yamashiro's and was hoping a couple of quick mods would allow me to convert one into the Fuso.
Any advice would be appreciated.
