I have a painting of BROOKLYN circa 1895, by a different artist, which has a very similar color.
IMO the best acrylic match is PolyScale PRR BUFF, which is no longer produced, but can still be found on Ebay.
However, I also have some lithos by Frederick Cozzens, another well known and prolific marine painter of the time. One shows a similar color to
PRR BUFF, but another shows earlier vessels with more yellow colored funnels.
