This about the business and building of the ships, rather than the ships themselves. Though, it is a comprehensive and well-written history of that side.
P2 transports, C4, transports, etc. Any of the ships that were used in the late war and post war period in to transport displaced persons immigrating to the US, etc.
There's limited data on Wikipedia and NavSource. The Military Sealift Command (as it is now called) does not have a lot of information on these ships either.
I work as a public historian / researcher at the Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration and want to gather as much data as I can so this can potentially become a limited curated exhibition.
