if you look at this 6:00 minute video, FF to 2:45 and you will start to see the ship drifting = No Bueno. At ~3:00 the ship is turning and you could see lights on the ship coming & going, etc, etc...
As a former OS1 who would do Sea & Anchor Detail, we would calculate set and drift pretty often, if not every three (3) minutes due to winds or tides. BUT, if you have loss of power, that will Change EVERYTHING.
I'm here in Europe on a river cruise and a few of the Guests are asking me questions about this accident as news gets out....I hope that the CO on This ship is going to do a "briefing" for the crew and the Guests onboard....

No matter how bad your commute, at least you aren't on the Baltimore Beltway. A container ship (Singapore flagged) hit the Francis Scott Key Bridge on I695 and it collapsed into the Patapsco River. Search and Rescue have pulled 2 folks out of the water so far and they're looking for at least 7. Multiple vehicles plus workers on the bridge went into the water.
