I did the Juneau for a client. I have had good success painting measure 12 and RN subjects. I practiced a bit on a sacrificial hull using my paint of choice—White Ensign. I airbrushed the Ocean gray on and brushed the Haze using a 000 brush. I used a mechanical pencil to mark where the Haze would go. If you goof you can erase. I mounted the model with two sided Scotch tape to an angled scrap piece of wood and mounted the wood to the workbench. That way the model is stationary. I now have both hands free to work. I rest my wrists on the edge of the bench to get rid of some of the shaking. I found I had to clean the brush often because it will load up and get stiff. It is useful to have clean thinner to add to the brush if you need to thin while painting. I did it in sessions, it is too much to do at one time. If you can, an ounce of a good single malt helps take the edge off. Not too much!
